My First AIR Application is a fact!

Funky FeedsToday I wrote my first AIR application called Funky Feeds.

It is a RSS Feed reader, written in AS2 and wrapped in AIR. This will be a hobby project to take advantage of all that AIR has to offer.

What to expect in upcomming versions?

  • Auto Update
  • More feeds
  • Add your own feeds
  • Move window across your screen
  • Close and minimize (now you have to close manually, sorry)

Installing the runtime is simple, and requires downloading and running the Adobe Integrated Runtime Installer.

  1. Download AIR Installer from http://www.adobe.com/go/air
  2. Launch the installer. (On a Mac, you must first mount the .dmg file, which contains the installer.)
  3. Follow the installation instructions.

As Adobe AIR is simply a runtime and not an application that can be launched, the easiest way to confirm that it is installed correctly is to try installing my AIR application. And that can be downloaded here.

Hope you find it usefull! And please leave a comment to tell me what you think!

Please consider to buying me a coffee.
